Pride in the Past... Hope for the Future…
April 26, 2018, my family together with my friends goes to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. The heritage site was located in the town of Bagac, Bataan, Philippines 2107 from our place Pilar Bataan it took less than an hour to be able to reach this beautiful place.
One of the tour guides introduced the different story of the old mansions or houses and things in the location. I am very thankful to our tour guide because with her I learn many new things from the past aside from being so hospitable.
Inside Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar you will see different houses and mansions that will amaze you. Some are replicas, but most are originals collected from various provinces like Bulacan, Cagayan, Pampanga, La Union, Tondo and a lot more. Those mansions and houses are carefully taken into pieces to preserve their antiquity.
One house name Casa Baliuag caught my attention for it has so many great stories to tell. Regarding to the tour guide the Casa Baliuag house was moved to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in 2007.
Casa Baliuag – This house was built in 1898 in front of the Baliuag Church in Baliuag, Bulacan. Highly floral in motif as was the custom during those times, the house was owned by Kapitan Fernando Vergel de Dios who had two wives in his lifetime. The first wife was Carmen Fausta de Leon, with whom he had nine children. Unfortunately, Carmen died. After a year, he married again, this time to Angela Nuñez, with whom he had 12 children – for a total of 21 children in his lifetime.
The lower part of the house was called luwasan (passage way, but can mean “to leave for”) because this is where Bulakeños waited for their ride to Manila. Taking advantage of the many people who stood in front their house, the owner set up shops for two businesses, a photo studio and a post office.
The mansions tour took less than two hours and it’s really worth it. After the tour we used to explore the place more.
More photos inside Casa Baliuag House.

We also see the Rocks of Teddy (Philippine Band) vocalist Teddy Corpuz with his family who also exploring the beauty of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. My son enjoyed playing in the pool and he really had so much fun for the sun may be as its brightest.
Of course in a tour like this eating won’t be misplace. We eat our lunch in a villa where they served Filipino food, but you can choose other food like Mexican dishes. We eat palitaw for our meryenda. Palitaw is a small, flat, sweet rice cake eaten in the Philippines.
Truly, it is more fun in the Philippines. It’s more fun in Bataan.
